Mission

The mission of the CRBM Foundation is to accelerate research and the discovery of natural marine-sourced substances, with the aim of improving human health while upholding deep respect for the environment and the diversity of resources.

Objectives

The CRBM Foundation was created to support and encourage:

Medical research through the creation of research programs aimed at the prevention, screening and treatment of cancer and other diseases with major socioeconomic impact
Research into medicinal substances and natural ingredients, particularly of marine origin
The education of students through research internship grants
Research into products and processes beneficial to personal well-being
The dissemination of research results supported by the Foundation for the benefit of the public
The purchase and maintenance of highly specialized equipment required for the Foundation's research activities

Why donate to the CRBM Foundation?

In-house research focused on health

The CRBM’s funding model drives oriented and industry-focused research, paving the way for technology transfer to businesses. This research and development (R&D) work generates relevant data to be explored outside the scope of this strictly oriented research.

Since its creation in 2006, the CRBM Foundation has supported the development of three screening platforms: anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial. These platforms are used to identify and characterize molecules that could be used in developing new human health products.

The CRBM Foundation reinvests all donations received in its research activities and the advanced equipment needed to carry them out.

The Board of the CRBM Foundation has the full support of the CRBM, meaning that each donation has a direct impact on scientific development.

Thanks to the donations received, we have:

Identified a highly bioavailable omega-3 of marine origin (contributing to the creation of SCF Pharma and obtaining of patents);
Developed anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial screening platforms;
Created a library of marine extracts;
Supported a project involving a marine extract (CRBM-75) with anti-cancer properties and its impact on chemotherapy-resistant colorectal cancer;
Developed diagnostic analyses for patients at a local hospital (Centre hospitalier régional de Rimouski);
Acquired highly specialized equipment for our marine biomolecules research program.
