Our experts help businesses ensure that the raw materials they need for their projects meet sector-specific quality standards. The CRBM team can also produce the microorganisms and microalgae needed for projects in confined cultures (photobioreactors, fermenters, shake flask systems). Depending on the components required, the process results in a tailor-made raw material.

We produce ingredients by performing extraction, chemical modification, and formulation tests on both natural and synthetic materials. Projects can include purification and bioassay-guided fractionation to generate new extracts, which are then evaluated to identify their functional properties and biological activity. The CRBM has developed several test platforms to assess and screen for anti-cancer, anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory, and cosmetic properties.

Our team has extensive expertise in complementary disciplines such as analytical chemistry, microbiology, biochemistry, and cellular and molecular biology. This allows us to develop methodologies for characterizing active ingredients, as well as the quality control needed to develop products, study their stability and assess their purity. Our team is also working on the development and optimization of pilot-scale production, such as the packaging of active ingredients and formulated products. We use several technologies, from drying, grinding, sieving, hydrolysis and extraction to filtration, centrifugation and homogenization techniques. We are also developing prototype manufacturing processes to generate finished products that our customers can evaluate on the market.
