Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) recognition for efficacy evaluation of disinfectants and sanitizers

The CRBM has been awarded a Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) Recognition specifically targeting the disinfectant and sanitizer niche. This recognition authorizes the CRBM to carry out analyses to support the safety and efficacy of chemical products that meet the regulatory definition of an “antimicrobial agent”. This accreditation, issued by the Standards Council of Canada (SCC), positions the MBRC as a pioneer in Quebec in this area of testing, and as a partner of choice for all Canadian and international companies wishing to assess the quality and efficacy of their disinfectant products for the Canadian market.

What is GLP recognition?

Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) is a set of standards forming a quality assurance system. Based on the principles of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), these internationally-recognized standards encompass principles designed to ensure the safety and integrity of testing facilities conducting non-clinical safety studies on chemical products. GLP covers the organizational process and the conditions under which non-clinical laboratory and field studies are planned, carried out, monitored and evaluated. This process is designed to promote the quality and validity of experimental data, and to improve international acceptance of data obtained in accordance with these principles.
